By MafiaDon’t Get Crushed is a PS3 port/remake of my previously released Wii game of the same name.
Use the left analog stick to move left or right and avoid the other balls as they bounce across the screen. If you get crushed under one of them then its game over and your score is reset to zero. Your high score is automatically saved to your internal hard drive.
By MafiaPongus is a simple pong clone, demonstrating the basic features of the PSL1GHT SDK.
- Right now, it’s in a playable state, with enemy AI, collision detection, Speed advancement and simple controls.
+ Right now, it’s in a playable state, with enemy AI, collision detection, Speed advancement and simple controls.
I am aware that there is already a much better pong clone available for the ps3, but that package contains leaked sony code, and is illegal to distribute.
This package is the opposite, written completely with the Open PSL1GHT SDK. No Sony code was used to write this game, and thus, is able to be freely distributed, source and all.
Cascade Beneath is a simple clone of the equally simple game Fall Down. Use the left analog stick to move left and right and try to keep from getting pushed off the top of the screen for as long as possible.
By Mafiav3 is now out. Sound effects should work pretty much perfectly now, there's a simple launcher that will allow you to select an IWAD if you have multiple ones available (no PWADs yet, and the launcher menu only lists the first 10 IWADs it finds which can happen if you have duplicates of them on different storage devices) and in case an error happens after graphics have been initalized, you'll see the error message on screen. (not just via ethernet debugging if enabled).
I also switched the license to GPLv2 now (the DOOM source is available both under GPL and under another license that basically disallows any commercial use of the work, but allows you to withhold your sources). I had no intention to not release sources anyway, and this allows me to use code from other GPL'd ports. The 720p scaler in use now is from Chocolate Doom (though adapted to work with true transparencies instead of faking them with palette lookup tables) and 1080i/p is done using a similar idea.
v3 supported screenmodes: 1920x1080 and 1280x720. 640x480 and 720x576 STILL DO NOT WORK. Sorry! If you want to force 720p mode when you have 1080i or 1080p available, hold TRIANGLE immediately after you select PS3DOOM's icon from XMB and keep it held down until the launcher WAD menu appears. This is a workaround until I can figure out a way to query available video modes using PSL1GHT. I don't just want to assume a particular mode is available, and PSL1GHT's videoTest example just selects the same mode XMB is running in, which is always the highest resolution available.
You may want to force 720p because the scaler in 1080i/p is a bit slow. 😉
I also changed the controls to analog now.
By MafiaTimRex has released VICE (Versatile Commodore Emulator) for PS3 release 1.0, which is a C64, PLUS4 and VIC20 emulator for PS3 JailBreak users.
Build 1.0 (20-11-2010)
- Initial Release, based on Vice 2.2.7
* Full-speed emulation
* Audio enabled (FastSID)
* Fullscreen support, 16:9, 4:3
* Video filters, with preview
* Warp Mode (Achieves ~ 350-700% actual speed)
* On-Screen Keyboard (partial support).
* Keyboard Support (partially implemented).
* Supports all known (uncompressed) formats (.d64 .d71 .d80 .d81 .d82 .g64 .g41 .x64 .t64 .tap .prg .p00)
CROSS - Launches the emulator with the selected title set to fast autoload
TRIANGLE - Launches the emulator directly into C64 BASIC
SELECT - Settings / Configuration
START - Returns to the emulator
CROSS - Fire
D-PAD - Joystick
SELECT - Swap joysticks
START - Menu/Configuration
TRIANGLE - Mapped to keyboard for 'Y'
CIRCLE - Mapped to keyboard for 'N' - Doubly mapped to 'UP' (See note 1)
SQUARE - Mapped to keyboard for
L1 - Mapped to keyboard for 'F1'
L2 - Mapped to keyboard for 'F3'
R1 - Mapped to keyboard for 'F5'
R2 - Mapped to keyboard for 'F7'
R3 - On-Screen-Keyboard (partially supported)
L2 + R2 - Warp Mode
*1 The CIRCLE button has been doubly mapped to the joystick 'UP' direction. This is useful for platform style games where the UP direction indicates a JUMP action. Clearly a difference in design aesthetics between joysticks and control pads, this might be more desirable.
- Compressed formats currently NOT supported (.zip .bz2 .gz .d6z .d7z .d8z .g6z .g4z .x6z)
- On-Screen-Keyboard is not fully mapped yet. Some keys will register incorrectly, if at all.
- Actual Keyboard support not fully implemented, but good enough for the minute.
- Does not save settings / configuration
Source code to be made available pending some serious cleanup and refactoring.
Thanks go out to Squarepusher, Shinhalsafar, Cm0nkey, Airmaker for their hard work on the Snes9x PS3 port, and their cellFramework library. This work also incorporates their menu system and config UI. Also to the original VICE team for creating a solid and well maintained codebase to work with.
By Mafia1) To start the FTP server, just run the PS3-FTP.self via ps3load/wiiload or install the
PS3-FTP.pkg and run it directly from the XMB on your PS3.
2) Configure your FTP client to use passive mode and only one FTP connection at a time.
3) Connect to your PS3's IP on port 21 with an FTP client of your choice. If you don't
know the IP address of your PS3, go to Settings -> Network Settings in the XMB, it is
listed there along with other network settings.
PS3-FTP has been tested and should be compatible with the following clients:
* Windows Explorer
* BSD/UNIX FTP shell client
4) To stop the server once it is running, you have to be connected to your PS3 with your
FTP client. Press and hold down the X button on your controller and terminate the
connection of your FTP client or just close the FTP client on your PC completely.
The PS3-FTP server should then shutdown and your PS3 should return to the XMB.

the video is from an earlier state, the game is now nearly complete
created by me, released, and enjoy=-)
source: have to fix 2 bugs first, then will release source
1. scores don't save(don't know why yet)
2. attempting to play in 480p causes the ps3 to crash(not a clue on this one)
By MafiaXMB icons created by yamagushi
-Texture loading (currently only supports BMP)
-Onscreen text rendering
-Controls (including sixaxis and joysticks)
-All standard Lua functionality (with the exception of the OS functions)
-PC emulator that can be used to test scripts before you run on the ps3 (Linux, Mac and Windows binaries included,
if you are using the windows binary and get some missing dll messages, those dll's are in the "compat DLL's.zip" file in the emulator folder)
-Support for more image formats
-Support for TTF fonts and font customization
-More advanced rendering functionality
How to use
-copy everything that is in the "Copy to USB root" to the root of your USB drive
-install the pkg as you would any other pkg
-all files that you attempt to open from lua must be on your USB drive
-any scripts that you make, must be on the root of the card, and named app.lua
-when testing the scripts in the emulator, it will load app.lua in the same folder as the binary, all files that you attempt
to load should also be in that same folder
this release comes with an example app.lua which shows a few of the features of which you are currently able to do
when using the emulator, the keys are mapped in the folowing way
up = up arrow
down = down arrow
left = left arrow
right = right arrow
triangle = w
square = a
cross = s
circle = d
start = enter/return
select = quote key (")
R1 = Right shift
R2 = Right control
R3 = question mark
L1 = Left shift
L2 = Left control
L3 = z
There is currently no emulation of the joysticks or sixaxis in the emulator
if you have any questions, comments, or requests you can post them wherever you downloaded this from, or you can also find me on irc in #luaplayerps3 on irc.freenode.net
